Broadband Growth Strategy

Background
One of the very largest European Internet Service Providers, this partner had traditionally held strong market position in dial up networking. They were seeking to improve the use and quality of their broadband offering. An added concern was the emergence in the market of “broadband only” providers that were not encumbered with the associated costs of the traditional telecommunications infrastructure.
Contraco was tasked to present a strategic plan to enhance their broadband offerings and increasing market competitiveness.

 

Analysis and Team Work
Contraco carried out an in-depth market and SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) analysis. Based on the analysis we developed a strategy that combined network technologies of optimized high speed dial up, DSL and broadband through cable access. In parallel Contraco developed a premium content platform and search solution, which offered free high quality broadband content to subscribers. Accompanying the content platform we developed and deployed a suite of end user tools allowing them to monitor the speed of delivery. These tools significantly enhanced the users confidence and appreciation of the service.

Results
Our partner is now the clear market leader in broadband in several major EU countries with significantly higher user loyalty and retention rates than the market norm.
