 Our consulting team developed a multi faceted strategy to meet the market challenge. Much of their auction traffic was initiated though search so we focused on methods and technologies to get their auctions into the major internet search engines effectively in real time. That meant that buyers shopping on line may well be presented with an auction for exactly what they are searching for. Leveraging our networks with portals and Internet Service Provider’s we developed the relationships for our partner with several major European portals that deployed their product as part of their offering.
Contraco developed a series of powerful end user tools which where significantly more sophisticated than those of their major rivals, this greatly improved user loyalty and site “stickiness. Contraco facilitated the negotiations and enhanced their products by integrating their products through our middle tied technology platform.
Results and Next Steps
 Our partner was able to improve their position in the market at the expense of their smaller rivals, to establish a ‘strong second’ position just behind eBay. Key to this success was the dramatic improvement in the position that their auctions obtained in the major search platforms coupled with the increase in user traffic from the portal deployments and improved usability of their product. Subsequently we have continued to work with them to further enhance their product position and quality.
