Driving Shopping

Background
A large European Online-Portal and destination had a significant gap between the amount of user traffic and the volume of E-Commerce or shopping traffic being generated.
Contraco was tasked to develop and help execute a strategy to increase the E-commerce revenue.

 

Analysis and Team Work
Initial analysis by Contraco revealed that the end user shopping experience had several problems. Users were presented with multiple different user interfaces with differing shopping experiences. Users found things hard to find and frequently left the shopping process out of frustration.
As part of the deployment phase of the strategy, Contraco integrated the disparate shopping data sources (structured and unstructured) onto a central framework. Based on a common platform the development team were able to successfully redesigned the end user shopping experience greatly enhancing usability and consistency.

Results and Next Steps
The new shopping search performed extremely well in user testing and once deployed generated a + 300% improvement in shopping traffic. Our partner is currently right at the top of the E-Commerce space almost over night. We have continued to work with this partner to improve the ranking of their products in various major search engines and the quality of the search and user experience.
